At spawn turn right and walk straight forward until you reach the mesa biome. The first are you will reach is quite flat actually but if you just continue on your walk for a bit more you will get to where the bryce mesa spikes are.
One of the spikes which is located on the right side of the river got a cave inside it.
The area where the spikes are located isn't really that big but they are very tightly combined as you can see.
