The spawn is in a flatlands landscape. Behind you there will be a desert and a large pile of sand with an open entrance to a cave. But ignore that for now. Instead fly towards the tree on the left in the direction you spawned and after about 5-10 seconds you should be able to see the first glimpse of the double village.
